Description
This is a Rolex Milgauss 116400V Stainless Steel, with black dial and a rare sapphire crystal that turns green at an angle. These crystals are no longer produced, so there's a good chance the price of this specific model will sky-rocket in the next years. This item is a collector's item, and it has never been worn. It includes all the original papers, boxes and warranty card.
For a house with such an extensive and consistent tradition as Rolex, the Milgauss series was certainly a turning point. Fortunately though, the swiss watchmaker succeeded in being faithful to its own standards, and the result as a watch that, despite being quite innovative in many aspects, still holds true to its heritage: the Milgauss. While some people may regard this model as a deviant in the Rolex family, there are many others (ourselves included) who see it as a bold step forward with quite positive results.
The most striking aspect about the Milgauss is definitely the seconds hand - as you might have noticed, it's shaped like a lightning bolt: and most surprisingly? It actually doesn't look out of place in a Rolex; particularly once you realize its significance goes beyond aesthetics: you see, the main distinctive feature in this line of watches is their high resistance to magnetism (up to 1,000 Gauss, thus the name). The usefulness of this feature for the common user may be debatable, but all the while it stands proudly as a cutting edge technical achievement in watchmaking.
